At the 2004 North American International Auto Show, Ford Mustang introduced a completely redesigned, which has been codenamed "S-197" and is based on a new platform D2C model for the year 2005. Developed under the direction of Chief Engineer Hau Thai-Tang and external styling designer Sid Ramnarace, fifth-generation Mustang draws inspiration from the 1960 Mustangs, particularly the 1967-68 models. It 'been redesigned this aesthetic that inspired Ford's Senior Vice President of Design J Mays, called "retro-futurism." Mustang, 2005, the exclusive style retro coupe integrates its status as a muscle car with a power approximate weight ratio 11.5:1. The current Mustangs are produced in AutoAlliance International plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. The base Mustang, equipped with a 5-speed Tremec T-5 manual transmission, is powered by a cast iron block 200 hp (156 kW) 4.0 L V6 SOHC Ford Cologne engine, which replaces the 3.8 L pushrod V6. The Mustang GT features a more robust Tremec TR-3650 with a transmission aluminium 300 hp (224 kW) 4.6 L 3-valve modular V8 with variable camshaft timing.
