Mustang 1969

1969 brought another important restoration of the Mustang. The Fastback 2 +2 was gone - replaced by the new model SportsRoof. The new Mustangs were almost 4 inches longer than its predecessors 67/68, which still retains the 108 "wheelbase of the original 64 ½ 's. The base engine remains the 200-cubic-inch six-cylinder engine. New mentality the economy Mustang owner was an optional 250 cubic inches six. The base V-8 remains the 302-2V. The 351-2V and 4V came in line with 1969. The 302-4V, and the 390-2V fell, but the 390-4V remained.

There were two special offered for 69 engines, the Boss 302 and Boss 429. Both engines are available only in two units of limited production, so called, the Boss 302 and Boss 429. New features include 69 quad headlamps, parking lamps front is now behind the front fascia, new fourth panel ornaments, spoons and an integral part in the rear wing SportsRoof models, the front seat back locks, and for the first time The VIN number, and it also is in the driver's door, is also attached to the instrument panel and visible through the windshield.

There are several new models offered during 1969. A little knowledge is the model Mustang 'E'. It was basically a standard model economy SportsRoof mind with a six-cylinder engine, a higher (numerically inferior) ratio rear end with a large torque converter, and an automatic transmission. Air conditioning was not available in the 'V' model. A "Mustang E" logo replaced the standard quarter panel ornament. Another new model is the Mach 1, which was possible only with one of the five largest V-8 engines. It introduced special interior finishing, carpet special, and high-back bucket seats. On the outside, the Mach 1 is a low gloss black hood, non-functional hood in front of the fireplace (except models equipped with the 428 Cobra Jet engine, which had a "new 69" shaker in front of the fireplace) hood pins, dual careers mirrors, special side band, pop-open gas cap, and terminating at the dual chrome exhaust, quad outlets. The Mach 1 also includes the "suspension of manipulation", and other 55 pounds of deadner and sound insulation materials. Another new model de'69 was the Boss 302.
Built primarily to qualify the Mustang from the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), the Trans-Am series. The Boss 302 included a special 290 horsepower, 302 engine, 4 speed transmission, steering box ratio 16:1, and a 3.50:1, staggered shock rear end. The exterior had a low gloss, black hood and deck lid, Boss 302 "C" stripes, front spoiler, flared up defenses and F60x15 Magnum 500 wheels with tires.

All doctors in the Mustang interior are available on the Boss 302, but most of them were equipped with a black, standard Mustang interior. The biggest and baddest of the Boss's, the Boss 429 was introduced in 1969. Mainly built to meet the needs of NASCAR, the Mustang Boss 429 is a semi-429 Hemi engine. To compensate for the massive engine, the front shock towers were transferred out an inch, and the front A-arms were cut an inch. The Boss 429 is a huge bell in front of the fireplace (the largest ever offered in the Mustang), front spoiler, flared up defenses, two runs of mirrors, and F60x15 tires mounted on chrome, Magnum 500 wheels. The interior, with the interior decoration Mustang group comfortweave bucket seats and console. The Boss 429 also included a moratorium on competition, stabalizer bar rear disc brakes front of power, power steering, engine oil cooler, battery mounted trunk, and a 3.91:1, blocking the rear traction. There were a total of 299824 Mustang built in 1969.
